FRIEZE LA Opens With Major Cultural Reset

FRIEZE LA Opens With Major Cultural Reset

By: Shadai McMillan

FRIEZE LA kicked off with “Black Euphoria,” curated by ARTonchain founder, Ronel Similien.
The international art dealer started LA’s buzziest art week paying homage to Black History Month, with a group showcase highlighting diverse artists on the rise. Featured artists included Amani Lewis, Kenrick Mcfarlane, Sisson, Reginald Westly Armstrong, Daniel T. Gaitor-Lomack.

In a brand new space in West Hollywood, Similien’s intimate VIP opening boasted a healthy flow of visitors well into the evening. The night included a live installation by conceptual artist Daniel Tyree Gaitor-Lomack, who was coined the talk of the LA art scene by ArtNet early last year.

More works were added to the show for the public opening – A gift from Similien to the many return attendees, and a testament to his dynamic curatorial style. The show is on view by appointment only through March 4th.

Catch them at ArtWalk on March 1st from 11am to 7pm.
